Side pose

Puzzle

Art for everyone: Improvs

Art class everybody!
Let us start with some fun stuff: Improvs in public. There is an increasing number of creative people getting into this sort of thing, where the idea is to have fun in a prank-ish sort of way (mostly in urban environments). These performances can take place anywhere from the subway train to Best Buy outlets, and are usually designed to be fun for not just the performers, but the subjects as well. They are slightly different from the variety of prank shows which have populated our TV screens, in that the subjects are usually a group of people, and often the subject never gets to know that what he witnessed was planned performance.
If you think you would be into this sort of this thing, check out the ImprovEverywhere channel on YouTube, which features several performances by this New York based group. My favorite is the 'High Five Escalator' which you can watch below. I like this performance for it's simplicity and the chosen setting. It really makes it a better morning for a lot of people!

There is also a TEDx talk by Charlie Todd, the founder of the group below:

Which performance from the channel is your favorite and why? Do you know about other similar groups? Spill it out in the comments.
In the next post, some more cool artsy stuff!
